Trinidad City Council
The Trinidad City Council is comprised of five persons who are chosen by the City’s registered voters at general elections in even-numbered years. Council members must be resident of the City. Each is elected at-large to a four-year term. Should a vacancy occur before an election, the Council can appoint someone to serve the remainder of that term. The Council members select from themselves a Mayor and Mayor Pro-Tem who generally serve a two-year term.

CITY COUNCIL ELECTIONS
New City Council members Dwight Miller and Tom Davies were sworn in to begin their four-year terms at the regular Trinidad City Council Meeting held on Wednesday, December 8, 2010. A brief ceremony followed by a meeting break and reception was held to thank the two outgoing Council members, Mayor Stan Binnie and Councilman Don Ratzlaff.

Trinidad City Budget
The City annually adopts a fiscal year budget. The fiscal year budget for FY2010 (July, 2009 through June, 2010) was adopted by the Trinidad City Council on June 10, 2009. That Budget was amended by the City Council on September 9, 2009.
