Commissionerships
Trinidad has a unique form of government. Larger cities have a City Manager who oversees employees and manages city operations. In Trinidad, each Council member has certain responsibilities called "Commissionerships."
Commissioners oversee the operation of city departments and also bring projects to the Council agenda for discussion and action. Some Commissioner assignments involve participating in regional agencies of which Trinidad is a part. Each Council member has several Commissionerships, which are listed below.
