911 Calls
Call 911 for all emergencies or dangerous situations including fire, medical, downed power lines, vehicle collisions, hazardous material spills, etc. The 911 Emergency Calling System in Humboldt County is coordinated by the Sheriff's dispatcher in Eureka. When you dial 911 your call goes to the Sheriff's dispatcher who determines the nature of your emergency and the appropriate agencies to notify.
Volunteer Fire Departments and CAL FIRE respond to fire emergency calls. Medical emergencies bring out Volunteer Fire Departments, CAL FIRE, and Arcata-Mad River Ambulance service.
The Trinidad Police Department also monitors emergency calls and responds to 911 calls in town, regardless of their nature.
