Meet Your Council
Trinidad City Council members are elected for four-year terms. Each two years either two or three Council seats are up for election, consolidated with State and Federal elections in November. Trinidad's Mayor is chosen by a vote of the Council after new Councilmembers are sworn in. Should a vacancy occur before an election, the Council can appoint someone to serve the remainder of that term.
